A specific island getaway in South Carolina, Hilton Head Island is classified as resort island. Since it is located in an island, history said that it plays important roles during Civil War back then.

As an important base of operation for the Union blockade of the Southern ports, particularly from Savannah and Charleston. As one of critical island borders, you could found some steps of military in here, as an example is steam canon.

What could we found in this island (it also mention that this island is the second largest island after Long Island)? There are many attractive entertainment and historic places we could found in here. Some historic and cultural arts center such as coastal discovery museum, arts council of Beaufort county, Hilton head symphony orchestra, and many more.

Some annual events such as Gullah celebration, St. Patrick Parade, Harbour Fest., Celebrity Golf Tournaments and many more are consider as tourists attraction magnet.

Located in an island is another benefit looking for sea wildlife, also close encounter of tourist and beaches. Of course you’ll found many of resorts offering their luxury facilities. I recommend you to book it first, better rather then going there and couldn’t find for decent places to stay. If you’re still not sure a bit of what to do in there, sign your self on guided tours, they’ll show you each historic places and attractive places to visit.

Usually they were offering taste of finest wine and round travel on its vineyards. Every wine has its own different taste, enjoy the differences and make your way of living in there.

Instead of that there something you should consider before using one of the tours agent, find the quality agents, numerous package could attract more customer, but as customer take a good look at it, is important. Some agent that has established for many years are considerable rather than established recently. Price is also made a crucial factor, find the one suit your money.

A man made dam separates a brackish creek and marshes from the tidal flats, south of which are acres of undeveloped and heavily-wooded hills. The visitor can swim in Long Island Sound where three miles of beach meets tall, glacier formed bluffs at the west end of the shoreline. Like any other beaches in Long Islands, there are similar outdoor facilities in Sunken Meadow State park, such as: biking, horseback riding, picnicking, windsurfing, cross-country skiing, 27 holes of golf, a driving range, a putting range and a three quarter mile boardwalk.

Something you should know before you go to Sunken Meadow State Park, especially if you’re usually taking your pets along with you. Pets cannot enter through the main entrance and not allowed in bathing or picnic areas, in buildings or on walkways. So better leave your pets in your neighbor or relatives.

Adventure’s is what Sunken Meadow State Park about, if you like spent your holiday in the water, try kayaking, canoeing or windsurfing for some unforgettable fun. Outdoor sports like fishing, horseback riding, and hiking, as well as biking in the woods, are ample here, as is the nature viewing. For Hikers, they will love the 32-mile Long Island Greenbelt Trail which passes through the park, and the 5-kilometer running course featuring “Cardiac Hill,” widely regarded as one of the most difficult cross-country courses in the country.

When you’re looking for beach, boardwalk, nature preserves, golf, playgrounds and ample parking fields, then the answer is Jonas Beach State Park. The park comprises 2,413 acres, 6-1/2 miles of ocean beach frontage, with a 1/2 mile of frontage developed for still water bathing.

The park was created during the administration of Robert Moses as President of the Long Island State Park Commission (for which he wrote the legislation in 1923) as part of the development of parkways on Long Island. Built in the 1920s, many of its buildings and facilities feature Art Deco architecture.

Jones Beach is accessible by car, boat, bicycle, and in the summer season by bus. Most visitors arrive by car via the Meadowbrook State Parkway or the Wantagh State Parkway.

Nearby the beach or about half mile from north beach, there is Jones Beach Theater. This outdoor theatre opened in 1952 and lots of numerous world famous musicians perform their stage in here during the summer months. It is directly across the street from the ocean and is outdoors in an open natural environment.

You could also found a ridding experience on bike while you’re in there, for some folks walking are boring thing to do, try riding on a bike. Have fun.
