Another park in Long islands, the park takes its name from the low meadowland which separates the beach from the uplands. A man made dam separates a brackish creek and marshes from the tidal flats, south of which are acres of undeveloped and heavily-wooded hills. The visitor can swim in Long Island Sound where three miles of beach meets tall, glacier formed bluffs at the west end of the shoreline. Like any other beaches in Long Islands, there are similar outdoor facilities in Sunken Meadow State park, such as: biking, horseback riding, picnicking, windsurfing, cross-country skiing, 27 holes of golf, a driving range, a putting range and a three quarter mile boardwalk.

Nearest beach from New York to Long island, which is only six 1/2 miles or about an hour from there. When you’re looking for beach, boardwalk, nature preserves, golf, playgrounds and ample parking fields, then the answer is Jonas Beach State Park. The park comprises 2,413 acres, 6-1/2 miles of ocean beach frontage, with a 1/2 mile of frontage developed for still water bathing.
The park was created during the administration of Robert Moses as President of the Long Island State Park Commission (for which he wrote the legislation in 1923) as part of the development of parkways on Long Island. Built in the 1920s, many of its buildings and facilities feature Art Deco architecture.

Cedar point country park, is one of the best camping ground in New York, every visitor leaving there always got a good impression on it. This park is open to both local people or tourists. The price was $24 for non-residents and $14 for Suffolk County residents with the yearly $20 park reservation pass. This happens to be a county park on 607 acres. Beaches are the view on the north eastern side of the park. Four wheel drive access is allowed in some areas with a permit.
Beach is the finest part of the park. There are stretches of beach that are easily accessible by short walk from a small parking lot. Most beaches are also within a short walk from the sites but are a bit far when you have to carry gear.
